Dr. Wes Satterfield, Ed. D.
Dr. Satterfield brings more than 23 years of clinical, educational, and leadership experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, severe emotional and behavioral disorders, mental health challenges, and a wide range of diverse learning and support needs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Satterfield has served in numerous roles across educational and clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, public schools, and therapeutic programs. His professional experience includes work as a paraprofessional, special education teacher, behavior and autism support specialist, special education administrator, and assistant principal of a public therapeutic alternative school serving students with significant behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs.
Dr. Satterfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies, a Master of Education in Multiple and Severe Disabilities with an emphasis in Autism and Severe Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, as well as both Specialist and Doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership.
As an educational leader, Dr. Satterfield has successfully developed and implemented innovative programs and initiatives designed to improve outcomes for students with diverse needs. He has taught courses in Special Education Law, IEP Compliance, the History of Special Education and Autism, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, and Mindset De-Escalation Management. In addition, he is certified in the Marcus Crisis Prevention Protocol.
Dr. Satterfield is also an experienced presenter and trainer who has spoken at professional conferences and facilitated large-scale professional development initiatives for school districts and educational organizations.
His educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and equitable access to meaningful educational opportunities. With over three decades of dedicated service, Dr. Whitmarsh has committed his career to the mission of ensuring that children and young adults with severe behavioral and educational needs are truly understood and supported. His journey has spanned some of the most respected institutions in the field, including the Johns Hopkins Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Marcus Behavior Center, as well as the Cobb and Cherokee County School Districts. These roles have provided him with a unique, 360-degree view of the educational landscape, ranging from intensive clinical and hospital settings to the front lines of the public school system.
While Dr. Whitmarsh’s experience covers the full spectrum of special education, his primary expertise lies in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Dr. Whitmarsh believes in the scientific application of behavioral principles to create meaningful, lasting change, operating under the philosophy that every behavior is a form of communication. Throughout 32 years of clinical and academic rigor, Dr. Whitmarsh has seen firsthand that every student has a path to success when provided with an environment rooted in evidence-based practice.
Today, his professional focus is centered on wisdom-driven advocacy. Having witnessed both the successes and failures of the current system, Dr. Whitmarsh uses his extensive background to act as a powerful bridge between complex educational policies and the real-world needs of families. His goal is to ensure that every student represented receives the highest quality education possible—one defined by dignity, unwavering support, and the pursuit of their full potential.
